Lester H. Loker, age 83, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 15, 2009. Lester was born in Rushford Township on August 13, 1926, the son of Hollis and Malita (Fiegel) Loker. He graduated from Omro High School in 1944, and then served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII, in the Pacific Ocean. He married Joyce Rolph on January 24, 1948 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Omro. They made their home in Omro, Berlin, Mineral Point and Horicon before moving to Oshkosh. He retired from Alliant Energy. Lester enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, spending time outdoors, traveling with Joyce and being with his family.
Lester is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joyce of Oshkosh, his sons, Ronald of Omaha, Nebraska, Mark (Nancy) of Stoughton, Terry (Paula) of Oshkosh, David of Madison, Dan (Kim) of Kewaskum; his daughter, Julie of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Connie (Craig), Kimberly, Jason, Christopher, Philip, Matthew, Ryan (Lisa) and Joe; great grandchildren, Brianna, Hannah, Jacob and Kristin. He is further survived by his sister, Geraldine King of Chicago; brother, Leslie (Shirley) Loker of Oshkosh, numerous in laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Pamela; grandson, Eric; and his brothers, Harold and Howard.
In respect to Lester's memory, friends and family may call at the funeral home on Monday, August 17, 2009, from 4-8 p.m. and at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 730 Madison Ave., Omro on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Jason Blahnik officiating. Lester will be laid to rest in the Omro Cemetery.
