Lila Marie Nelson, nee Hansen, age 83, passed away at Century Oaks in Oshkosh on Tuesday, November 19, 2013. She was born in Waupaca on February 25, 1930 the daughter of the late Alex and Edith (Harris) Hansen. On August 1, 1947 she married her husband of 39 years, Arden Nelson. He preceded her in death in 1987. Lila worked for Pluswood for 27 years. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, reading and especially crossword. Lila cherished her time with her family which included many good times going out to eat.
Lila is survived by her children: Edward (Jean) Nelson and Kathy (Thomas) Mittelsteadt; grandchildren: Heather (Dan) Nelson, CO, Amber Nelson, Erik Nelson, Stacy (Jack) Clark, Michelle (Emil) Toney and Kristine (David) Veith; step-grandchildren: Heather, Missy and Mindy Mittelsteadt; great-grandchildren: Jacob, Ashley, Brittany, Emma, Isabella, Mikey, Cambria, Kylee, Lydia; sister, Elsie Anderson; many nieces and nephews; and her cats: Toby and Muffin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arden; her parents; brother, Loren Hansen; and sister, Margaret Anderson.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 22, 2013 at the funeral home, with Pastor Alan Cleveland. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be in Lakeview Memorial Park.
