Lois A. Buehring, age 82, of Pickett, died peacefully Monday afternoon, April 26, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center. Lois was born October 1, 1927, in Oshkosh, the daughter of Adrian and Ella (Schmuhl) Broderick. She married Gordon Buehring in Oshkosh on August 2, 1947. He preceded her in death on December 12, 1971. Lois served her community as the Town Clerk/Treasurer for the Town of Utica for 33 years and also served as Secretary of the Liberty Prairie Cemetery Board for many years. For a number of years Lois had worked as a bookkeeper at the Wisconsin State Canners/NAAS in Pickett. During the war she had worked at a dime store making donuts. Lois enjoyed her work. She also found pleasure in her family, going for rides, and working in her yard.
Lois is survived, loved and will be missed by her children, Pat Vollmuth of Pickett, Bob (Robin) Buehring of Nekoosa, WI. and the late Jim Buehring who died March 25, 1985; grandchildren, Joy (Bill) Page, Dawn Straily, Scott (Shelly) Buehring, Adam (Jessica) Buehring and Troy (Theresa) Buehring; great grandchildren, Jordan Buehring, Rory Page, Dylan Buehring and Lauren Buehring who was born April 23, 2010; sister, Karen (Robert) Thiele of Wausau; other relatives and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gordon and son, Jim.
In respect to Lois's memory, the family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, April 30, 2010, at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, 508 County Road M, in Pickett, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Russell Koehn officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Prairie Cemetery.
