Lois Kallas "Mama Duck", Lifted up by the Holy Spirit and taken Home on August 26, 2006, at the age of 59 years. She was born June 23, 1947 in Oak Creek, WI. Lois will be sadly missed by the love of her life, Dennis. She loved being with him while fishing, going to tractor pulls, and traveling city streets with her golf cart. Her great joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Never complaining and always giving. In all her illness she has always been a fighter, but now was too tired to go on. Lois worked as a Loss and Prevention Officer most of her adult life.
Survivors include her husband, Dennis; daughters, Venus (Kelly) Burns of Texas, Monica Bell of Omro, Jennifer (Eric) Kallas of Greenville, Jillanne (Mike) Borst of Poy Sippi; daughter in law, Shawn Kallas of Appleton; grandchildren, Taylor and Kellie Marie Burns, Jonathan Jackson, Brandon, Teresa, and Brianne Borst, Austin and Makayla Kallas; mother in law, Doris Kallas of Omro; brothers in law, David (Linda) Kallas of Omro, Darryl (Mary) Kallas of Omro; sisters in law, Judy (Dennis) Fleck of Winneconne and Darlene (Gene) Malnory of Omro. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, special friends, Debbie and Bonnie and four legged, licking Reba. Preceding her in death where he parents, John and Florence Ruiz, father in law, Vernon Kallas and son, Jason Kallas.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 28, 2006 at the funeral home in Omro from 4-8 P.M. and then again on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at St. Mary Parish, Omro from 10 A.M. – 10:45 A.M. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Joseph Mattern officiating. Burial will follow in the Rushford Cemetery. A Memorial in her name has been established.
