Lois J. Monroe, age 74 of Oshkosh died
at home on January 17, 2010. She was
born in Watertown, to Louis and Vivian (Fernholtz) Riemer Sr. on May 27,
1935. On November 30, 1957 she married
Dennis D. Monroe.
Lois is best described as being
loving, caring, and giving. She received
her degree in Primary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and
began teaching. She joined Wesley United
Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and participated in many
church boards. After teaching for many
years, her loving and dedicated personality lead her to a work as an in-home
caregiver. In recent years she looked
forward to exercising at the Senior Center, where she made many friends.
Surviving Lois is her husband, Dennis;
son, Joseph (Anna) Monroe of Silverthorne, Colorado; daughter, Cynthia K.
Monroe of Oshkosh; and grandchildren: Ani Gabriel Monroe, Penny, Christopher,
Dustin, and Autumn. She is further
survived by her mother, Vivian Riemer of Watertown; and sisters, Barbara Ann
Hacker of Three Lakes, Wisconsin, and Donna Mae (Bill) Brooking of Zephyr
Hills, Florida. Her father, Louis Riemer
Sr. and brother, Louis Riemer Jr. preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held for
Lois at 12:00 Noon, on Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at Lake View Memorial Park
Chapel, 2786 Algoma Blvd. A time for sharing memories and visiting will be held
