Lois R. Roeder, of Omro, formerly of Oshkosh, died peacefully at home on Saturday, January 12, 2013. She was born in Oshkosh, the daughter of Harold and Helen (Norkofski) Mathwig. Lois had served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. She married Nile Roeder on October 5, 1946. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1979. Lois was a charter member of the Lamplighter's, a member of the D.A.V., American Legion, volunteered at Mercy Medical Center and also worked at St. Vincent DePaul. For 30 years, she spent her winters in Florida.
Lois is loved and will be missed by her children, Susan (Ben) Beulen of Omro, Nile (Linda) Roeder of Oshkosh; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Heath (Jennifer) Ruetten and their children, Hadley and Tenna; Kirk Ruetten and his children, Ian and Trinity; Kirsten (Steve) Larkin and their son, Austin; Erin Dunham and her children, Allissa and Paige; Jessica (Andy) King and their children, Grace, John, Mary Kate and Andrew. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Jean Buehner.
Lois will be laid to rest next to her husband at Riverside Cemetery in Oshkosh. Memorials may be directed to the Humane Society or Trinity Episcopal Church in Oshkosh.
