Obituary

Louise H. Wesenberg, age 77, died at Bethel Home in Oshkosh on March 13, 2007 with her family at her side. She was born in Oshkosh to William and Wilhemena "Minnie" (Neimeyer) Behm on August 16, 1929. She was the 10th of 12 children born to the couple. She graduated in 1948 from Omro High School and then attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She was married on March 15, 1951 to Glenn Wesenberg. He preceded her in death on February 23, 1986.


Louise received her LPN license in 1959. She worked at Pleasant Acres for 15 ? years. She retired from Mercy Medical Center in 1988. Louise wrote in her journal that she fully enjoyed family get-togethers and holidays. She also wrote that she was proud of having accomplished "more than I dreamed of, having more loved ones than I hoped for, and being able to enjoy simple things in life".


Surviving Louise are her seven children: Diane (Ron) Schmude, Darel (Pam) Wesenberg, Dennis (Deb) Wesenberg all of Oshkosh; Donna (Jay) Kopplin of Franklin, Duane (Kathleen) Wesenberg of Germantown, Doreen (David) Protz of Hudson, and Dean (Lisa-Marie) Wesenberg of Oshkosh. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren: Stacy (Greg) Wilker, Sgt. Steve (Chill) Schmude; Chet (Becki) Wesenberg, Chad (Michelle) Wesenberg, Jake and Max Wesenberg; Michelle Stacey, Billie Jo Luker, Russell (Jenn) Kopplin, Jeff (fiancee Tasha) Kopplin, and Wendy Kopplin; Mason, Hilary, and Evan Wesenberg; Tabetha, Nicholas, and Kirsten Protz; and Dylan, Alexis, and Rachel Wesenberg. Eleven great-grandchildren further survive Louise: Chase and Rhys Wilker; Cloe, Sage, and Lyla Wesenberg, Ava Wesenberg; Ashley and Brittany Stacey; Cole Ripp; Cherish Ann LeHockey; and Tristen Daily. One brother and one sister also survive Louise: Henry (Dottie) Behm and Edna Mueller, both of Oshkosh. Three sisters-in-law survive Louise: Mildred Behm of Merrill, Charlene Wesenberg of Oshkosh, and Elaine (Donald) Patt of Oshkosh. Two brothers-in-law survive Louise as well: Ronnie (Janet) Wesenberg of Zion, Illinois and Alan (Arlene) Wesenberg of Van Dyne. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends further survive Louise. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents, eight brothers: William Jr., Fritz, Carl, George, Walter, Harvey, Arthur and Richard; and one sister: Eleanor Corcoran.


Funeral services for Louise will be on Thursday, March 15, 2007 at Peace Lutheran Church, 240 W. 9th Street, at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Timothy Greenwald will be officiating. Friends and neighbors may gather at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. There will be an evening visitation at Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, TONIGHT from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Interment will be at Peace Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has established memorials in Louise's name for Peace Lutheran Church, the Alzheimer's Association, and Affinity Hospice.
