Lucille Fuchs-King, age 88, of Woodruff, Wisconsin and formerly of Oshkosh, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 14, 2008 at the Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, surrounded by her family. She was born on March 5, 1920 in Pound, Wisconsin, a daughter to the late William and Edna (Trapp) Mueller. Lucille married Joseph Fuchs on October 15, 1949 in Oshkosh and he preceded her in death on March 12, 1984. She later married Orrin H. King on March 31, 1990 in Oshkosh and he preceded her in death on November 22, 1997.
Lucille was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She also served as the Sunday School Treasurer until October of 2007. Lucille was an original member of the 15-2 Cribbage Club for over 50 years, a Camp Fire Leader, charter member of Bethel Home Auxiliary and the Chapter Chairperson. She delivered Meals on Wheels for 5 years in Oshkosh and was a volunteer at Job's Closet until October of 2007. Lucille was a beautician by trade and also waitressed at the Gray Fox Restaurant for 10 years.
Left to mourn her passing is a daughter, Sandra (Arlin) Jolin of Lake Tomahawk, Wisconsin; three granddaughters, Rebecca (James) Wanty of Lake Tomahawk, Wendy (Ronald) Evenson, and Renea (Joshua) Choinski, both of Rhinelander, Wisconsin; seven great-grandchildren, Todd Anderson, Brandon Wanty, Austin Wanty, Kaitlyan Evenson, Joseph Evenson, Cassandra Choinski, and Hailey Choinski; two step-sons, Dale (Leslie) King and Douglas (Melinda) King; and a step-daughter-in-law, Arlene King. Lucille is further survived by three sisters, Dorothy Schmude of Oshkosh, Leona Christensen of Racine, and Eleanor (Donald) Oleson of Tampa, Florida; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Lesselyoung of Oshkosh; a brother, Eugene (Joan) Mueller of Oshkosh; four sisters-in-law, Shirley Krings, Florence King, Ardyce Zillges, and Phyllis Williams; a brother-in-law, Sidney King; and many nieces and nephews. G.G. will be greatly missed by all as she was such a vital part of this family. Preceding Lucille in death are her husbands, a step-son, Kenneth King, a brother, Kenneth Mueller, and two sisters, Emma Thiele and Edna Troxell.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 18, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, 400 North Sawyer Street, with Reverend Jeffrey Knoll officiating. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. A time of visitation and sharing of memories will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 North Eagle Street, and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
