Obituary

Lucille Patricia Merbs entered eternal life on Saturday, September 22, 2007. She was born in Menasha, Wisconsin, daughter of Joseph and Josephine Dombeck. Lucille died peacefully at home in the arms of her loving daughters.
She was married to C. Florian Merbs, June 17, 1933, in St. John's Catholic Church in Menasha. He preceded her in death Nov. 29, 1999 after 65 years of married life.
Lucille worked in Sales Audit 10 years for Kimberly Clark in Neenah and 25 years for the H. C. Prange Co. in Appleton. She enjoyed babysitting throughout her life. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. Lucille took great pleasure in serving others and asking nothing in return. She is survived by her 4 children, Dr. Charles (Barbara) Merbs, Tempe, AZ, Nancy (Robert) Nersveen, Issaquah, WA, Barbara (Boots) Spellman, Oshkosh, WI, and Carol (Jim) Knapp, Casa Grande, AZ; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; her brother John Dombeck, Menasha, WI; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
Visitation for the family will be held in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 N. Eagle Street, from 6-8 PM on Thursday, September 27th. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 28th, at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish - St. Mary Site, 442 Monroe St., Oshkosh, with lunch to follow. There will be no viewing in the church.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Lucille's memory. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Share condolences on-line at www.seefeldfuneral.com.
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
