Obituary

M. Marnette "Marnie" Hackbarth, age 83, of Oshkosh, died in the afternoon of December 4, 2006 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, Wisconsin. She was born to William and Liberta (Schindelholz) Manser in Oshkosh on September 29, 1923. Marnie met Robert Hackbarth and they were married on January 19, 1946 in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on June 3, 1996.


Marnie was a member of First Congregational Church, Oshkosh, and First Congregational Church, Redgranite. (The Mother of Pearl) enjoyed her summers at Pearl Lake. She liked to knit and do jig saw puzzles. Marnie was a member of the P.E.O. She loved to travel with her husband to Gulf Shores and Hawaii.


Surviving Marnie are her two children, Michael Hackbarth of Oshkosh, Mary Hackbarth of San Francisco, California, and two grandchildren, Adam and Ann Hackbarth, both of Oshkosh. Marnie is further survived by one sister-in-law, Marion Hartmann, of Oshkosh and one niece, Tracy Harcourt of San Bruno, California. Many close friends further survive Marnie. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, and one sister Theora Harcourt.


Memorial services for Marnie will be on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at First Congregational Church, 137 Algoma Blvd. in Oshkosh. Pastor Ralph and Carol DiBasio-Snyder will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial to either First Congregational Church of Oshkosh, or First Congregational Church of Redgranite.
