Mabel P. Schmidt, age 96, of Oshkosh, died Friday afternoon, May 1, 2009 at Bethel Home, where she resided since December 2008. Born on September 8, 1912 in the Township of Lebannon, Wisconsin to Herman and Pauline (Homann) Pennock, Mabel married Raymond W. Schmidt on August 18, 1966. Ray preceded Mabel in death on November 20, 1970.
Her love of crafts led Mabel to knit and crochet many different items. Reading and crossword puzzles were also favorite activities in her free time.
Remembering her fondly are a nephew, Bob (Barbara) Floyd of Oshkosh; and a niece, Joan (Ted) Morrison of Colorado.
It was Mabel's wish that no formal funeral services be conducted and that she be laid to rest at Lake View Memorial Park.
