Obituary

Madge Brunover, age 95, of Oshkosh, died Monday morning, August 29, 2016, at Bethel Home. Born on January 17, 1921, in the Township of Leon, Waushara County, the daughter of James and Lelah (Terrill) Larson, Madge attended Burr Oak Valley, a one room school. She graduated from Redgranite High School and later attended Oshkosh Technical School in a course of Cost Accounting.
On November 17, 1945, Madge married William "Bill" Brunover and they made a life together for 62 years until his death on February 17, 2008.
Employed by Buckstaff Company for 20 years in Payroll and Cost Accounting, Madge was also an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She served as Church School Superintendent and teacher of Christian Education for 25 years, Chairperson of Christian Education, Chairperson of Council of Ministries and other ministries, and a member of Friendship Circle.
An active individual, Madge was a volunteer for the Red Cross, Mercy Medical Center for 33 years, a docent at the Paine Arboretum, and the Ecumenical Food Pantry. She was also an avid reader.
Survivors include her step-daughter, Susan (Leon) Engler of Green Bay; step-grandchildren, Debra (Bob) Berns of Rhinelander, James Engler of Menominee, Michigan, and William (Connie) Engler of Eagle River; step-great-grandchildren, Brian and Bradley Berns, Gregory, Jeffery, Amie, and Patrick Engler, Jessica and Joseph Engler, Alyssa Larscheid, and Nickie and Casey Hermans; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Madge was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lucille Marks and Ilene Larson; three brothers, Arvin, Arden "Bob", and Kenneth; and a grandson, Michael Engler.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Wesley United Methodist Church, 761 Florida Avenue, with Pastor Mark Klaisner officiating. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services. Interment will follow the services at Lake View Memorial Park.
