Marcella Ann Spanbauer, born February 1, 1943, has left her earthly home on February 12, 2009, and has gone to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior. There she will join her parents, Frank and Theresa (Riechel) Spanbauer, her three brothers, Alfred, Frank, and Richard, a brother-in-law, Jack Reetz, and a nephew, Jimmy Spanbauer.
Diagnosed with cancer, Marcella had only three months to finalize her earthly plans, fighting to the end with no complaining. Left to mourn her passing are two sisters, Rose Reetz and Theresa (Dan) Reetz; a sister-in-law, Jana Spanbauer; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
A service of remembrance will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend James Jugenheimer officiating. Interment will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. A time of visitation and sharing of memories will be held on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
The family would like to thank everyone who was involved with Marcella's care. From the emergency room, when we first found out how sick Marcella was, to Dr. Romond, who operated on her leg, to the compassionate care by Doctors Gremminger and Oyedijo, and the staff at the Cancer Center. Thank you also to the nurses and staff at Mercy Medical Center and Bethel Home for the gentle care given to Marcella during the last days of her life. A special thank you to Jana Spanbauer for all her help in caring for Marcella.
Marcy says thank you and not to worry about her because she is happy and pain free now. She is with Jesus, her family, and her beloved kitty, Boots.
