Margaret Schmude Hoernke, age 78, of Oshkosh, died Wednesday morning, April 26, 2006 at Park View Health Center. She was born November 4, 1928 in Winnebago County, the daughter of Roland and Jenny Meyer Schmude. Margaret was educated in the Omro School System graduating from Omro High School in 1947. In her younger years she had worked at Sears. Family and friends will fondly recall her love of crocheting, tatting and reading.

Margaret is survived by her son, Harold (Mary) Hoernke of Neenah; brother, David K. Schmude of Tomah; sister, Bernice (Kenneth) Amundson of Omro; 3 grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roland & Jenny Schmude; her stepmother, Vera Schmude; and her husband, Donald Hoernke.

Visitation will be held at the Omro Funeral Home on Friday, April 28, 2006 from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 P.M. Margaret will be laid to rest in Omro Junction Cemetery.
