A gentle, precious lady, Margarita Rothenhoefer, nee DePietro, was welcomed into the arms of our Blessed Lord and Savior and reunited with her devoted husband of 57 years, Alvin Rothenhoefer after a lengthy Illness, on Monday, October 20, 2014. She was cared for round the clock by her loving daughters: Veronica and Aileen.
Margarita was born to Louis and Antoinette (Cavalucci) DePietro who preceded her in death along with her brothers: Joseph, Samuel, Rocco, Francis, Anthony and Louis: her sisters: Anne, Grace and Theresa and their spouses.
Margarita leaves behind her daughters: Gale (Allan) Malone, Veronica and Aileen Rothenhoefer; as well as her two loving grand-daughters: Camille and Maureen Malone. She is further survived by cousins, and nieces and nephews of her brothers and sisters.
Margarita was the purest example of love and caring in her roles as wife, mother and worker. She found enjoyment in gardening, travelling, crocheting, reading and caring for others. As her health declined she was gracious enough to allow others to care for her. She gave the world a wonderful gift by showing all she met that there is dignity in infirmity, love can still be shared with those around us, and that true success in life is not measured by bank accounts or awards, but how much you are loved by others.
Mother: you will be sorely missed by Al, "G", Verny, Aileen, Cammy and Molly-smoochy, smoochy!
A Catholic Memorial Mass will be held at Most Blessed Sacrament, St. Mary's Site, 619 Merritt Ave., Oshkosh, at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2014. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, 7301 Nash St., Milwaukee also on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Shanti Joseph and the staff at Affinity Medical Group, St. Elizabeth and Mercy Hospitals, Heartland Hospice, and Rescare Home Health, also to those who knew us and did not judge us for abiding by her wishes to have care at home!
