Obituary

Margie Ellis, age 91, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2009 at Webster Manor. She was born March 12, 1918, in the town of Rushford to the late William C. and Agnes V. (Anderson) Hackney. She married Nial C. Ellis on January 6, 1938; he preceded her in death. She is survived by one daughter, Julie (Vernon) Moldenhauer of Sun City, AZ; two sons, J. Thomas (Brenda) Ellis and Robert (Sharron) Ellis, both of Omro, WI; daughters in law, Connie Ellis of Omro, WI and Karen Ellis of Oshkosh, WI. She is also survived by one sister, Mary Krebs of Berlin, WI; one sister in law, Joyce Hackney of Wautoma, WI; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson. She had numerous nieces and nephews, with one special niece, Joan Johnson. Preceding her in death were two sons, David Ellis and James Ellis; one daughter, Pamela Ellis; one grandson, Timothy Moldenhauer; two sisters, Beverly Sobralski of Milwaukee and Helen Daggett of Omro, and one brother, William "Bud" Hackney.

Margie was a member of the First Baptist Church until its closing. She was a former member of the Rebecca Lodge at Omro. She graduated from Omro High School in 1937, worked at Speed Queen in Omro and then at Parkview Health Center in Oshkosh until her retirement in 1985. In her retirement, she enjoyed many years at her home on Lake Irogami in Wautoma. For many years she was a foster caregiver for two female clients. She was a life long avid Cub fan and enjoyed debating politics with anyone who would listen.

In respect to MargieÂ's memory, the family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at the funeral home in Omro, from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the Memorial Service at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Edward Slusser officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Rushford Cemetery.
