Marguerite E. "Peg" Agrell Dorow, age 90 of Oshkosh passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Bethel Home. She was born December 4, 1919, the daughter of John and Blanche (Musclow) McTasney in Toronto, Canada. After putting herself through business school in Detroit, Michigan she married Chet E. Agrell on April 1, 1942 and he preceded her in death in 1968. She later married David Dorow on November 28, 1986 in Oshkosh and he preceded her in death on February 16, 2010.
Peg worked for Rockwell International first in Detroit and then in Oshkosh for a total of over 35 years. She was also a very active volunteer, involved in many different organizations such as: joining the AmVets Ladies Auxiliary #7 in 1958, holding office in state, district and local offices through the years; she was active with EAA for over 30 years as a Docent and during convention worked on the Flight Line, in 2004 she won the Henry Kimberly Spirit of Leadership Award for Distinguished Volunteer Leadership in Service to EAA; she was on the board and volunteered with Cerebral Palsy for over 30 years; rang bells for Salvation Army for a number of years; volunteered for the Red Cross; she was active in Martin Luther School and the Reading Buddies Program and also active with the Oshkosh Senior Center. She inspired many around her to be active and volunteer. She also loved to golf and being a part of a Ladies Golf League. An animal lover all her life, she was especially fond of her cat, Jack.
Peg will be forever remembered by her loving daughter, Midge Counton of Oshkosh; her grandchildren, Carrie (Nate) Marcionette and Eric Counton of Greenville, South Carolina; nephews, Bill and Craig Cutter of Peoria, Illinois; niece, Catherine (Elliott) Cutter Nelson of Las Vegas, Nevada; step-daughter, Diane (Pat) Patterson of Oshkosh and their children, David Patterson of Oshkosh and Josh (Kara) Patterson and their daughter Mihret Patterson of Appleton. Peg was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; son, Craig T. Agrell; son-in-law, Ron Counton.
Memorial service for Peg will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street with Revered Nathan Ericson officiating. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will take place at the funeral chapel on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
