Maria Aschenbrenner, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. She was born in Croatia on February 6, 1928, the daughter of the late Josef and Anna (Nikolaus) Lenz. She married Johann Aschenbrenner in 1944 in Yugoslavia. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2012. Her faith and attending St. Mary Catholic Church in Omro were very important. She could be found in her vegetable garden often and worked hard to can those vegetables. Maria was an incredible cook, which included delicious deserts her children fought over. She will be remembered for being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Maria was always there to help others.

Maria is survived by her son: Mathias (MaryAnn) Aschenbrenner; grandchildren: Scott (Cherry) Aschenbrenner, Jill (Paul Kaminski) Aschenbrenner Selig and Alexandra (Steve Gregory) Hanson; and great-grandchildren: Alyssa (Jacob) Jordan, Jarod Selig, Josef Aschenbrenner, Kelsi Aschenbrenner and Aniela Gregory. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johann; son, Johann, Jr.; her parents; and her sister, Anna.

A private family service will be held. Burial will be in Omro Cemetery, Omro.
