Marian F. Schuessler, age 74, of Oshkosh, died peacefully Wednesday morning, February 11, 2004 at her home with her family at her side. She was born on November 4, 1929 in Racine, Wisconsin to Albert and Wilma (Meixl) Retelle, Sr. Marian married Edward Schuessler on February 19, 1949 at St. Peter Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on October 18, 1998.
Marian was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. She enjoyed taking care of her house and yard. Marian's family was very important to her and she enjoyed spending time with her husband/children/grandchildren, shopping trips, luncheons with cousins, visiting in Minnesota with her granddaughter and cousin, and was eagerly looking forward to the birth of Lisa and Rob's first child.
Survivors include one daughter: Sandy (Ed Dimpfl) Schuessler of Oshkosh; one son: Ronald (Shirley) Schuessler of Oshkosh; five grandchildren: Lisa (Rob) Reitz of Oshkosh; Angela Traxler of Oshkosh; Jennifer Schuessler of Oshkosh; Nicole (Michael) Sandberg of Byron, Minnesota; Erik Schuessler of Oshkosh; one brother: James Retelle of Oshkosh.
Marian was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother: Albert "Buddy" Retelle Jr., and one sister: Bernadine Klinger.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 14, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Peter Catholic Church, 435 High Street, with Reverend Robert Kollath officiating. Inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery following cremation. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the church. A memorial is being established by Marian's family.
