Marie L. Stone, age 76, of the Town of Omro, passed away peacefully January 21, 2016, at her home. Marie was born to Karl and Dorothy (Domke) Radde on July 11, 1939. Marie married Leonard Stone on September 6, 1958, in Omro. Marie spent her life farming with her husband, and taking care of her gardens and yard. Marie was a devoted mother and grandmother, and she loved to go on yearly vacations with her family, either up North, or later to Mexico. Kids sporting events and shopping with the grandchildren gave her great joy. She was a member of Waukau United Methodist Church; was treasurer, and played the organ and whatever else was needed for many years. Christmas was Marie's favorite time of the year; she enjoyed the family time, and decorating with her villages. ….Marie is survived by her husband, Leonard; son, Jeff Stone (Shelley James) of Nekoosa; daughter, Stacy (Pat) Kafer of Eureka; grandchildren, Joe (Chelsie), Jon, Kyle, Jacob, Karlee and Amelia; great grandchildren, Aiden and Zen; brother, Donnie Radde; sister Betty Parker; numerous in laws, nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Gary; brother, Karl; sisters, Kathy and Joyce. Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the Omro funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, January 28, at Waukau United Methodist Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Marie will be laid to rest in Eureka Cemetery.Marie's family would like to give special thanks to Vicki from Home Instead, and Sarah and Kristine of Heartland Hospice for the care given to Marie and her family.
