Marion E. Hough, age 93, of Boise, Idaho, and formerly of Oshkosh, died Monday, December 31, 2007 at Willow Park Assisted Living in Boise, Idaho. She was born on November 29, 1914 in Oshkosh to James and Hallie McCallan.
Marion graduated from Oshkosh Teachers College with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught multiple elementary grades in Marinette, Wisconsin; Lawton, Oklahoma; and in Oshkosh at Longfellow School and Webster Stanley. Marion was a member of First Congregational Church, where she taught Sunday School for several years, and was actively involved in sewing projects for church bazaars. She spent many hours working with the Camp Fire Girls organization and was also a Charter Member of P.E.O.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Block of Boise, Idaho, and Betsy (Paul) von Kuster of Edina, Minnesota; four grandchildren, Corinne and Andrew Block, Paul and Brian von Kuster; and a sister, Marjorie McCallan. Preceding Marion in death are her husband, Joseph Hough, her parents, a brother, Bud McCallan, a son-in-law, Bill Block, and a granddaughter, Christine.
