Marion J. Leinweber, age 80, of Oshkosh, died at Theda Clark Hospital on Monday, July 12, 2004 after a brief illness. She was born in Oshkosh on December 15, 1923 to the late Henry and Elizabeth (Paffenroth) Hergert. Marion was united in marriage to Alvin G. Leinweber on May 11, 1946. Alvin preceded her in death on May 4, 1995. Marion was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. She enjoyed golfing with her sisters and cooking.
Marion is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Tom) Vanevenhoven of New London, and two granddaughters, Sara Vanevenhoven of Green Bay, and Amy (Aaron) Knoploh of Cottage Grove. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband Alvin, Marion was preceded in death by three brothers: Almond and Henry Hergert and Gordon Hergert and his wife Clarine; five sisters and their spouses: Amelia (Carlton) Noebel, Emma (Norman) Suelflow, Lydia (Clarence) Senderhauf, Eleanor (Robert) Guenther, and Elizabeth Hergert. Marion was also preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Helen Spanbauer.
Funeral services for Marion will be held on Friday, July 16, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 400 N. Sawyer Street with Reverend Gerald Nerenhausen officiating.
Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial has been established.
Marion's family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the care and kindness Marion received from Dr. Mark Yackley, the nurses at Theda Clark 5 Center, Deb and Bruce Fuller, and Dale Grasee.
