Mark S. Hibsch, 47, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 11, 2005 at his home in Oshkosh. He was born in Cook County, Illinois, on August 18, 1958, the middle son of Donald and Arlene (Cisinski) Hibsch.
Mark graduated from Oshkosh West High School in 1976. He married his high school sweetheart, Jodie Schiessl, on November 22, 1980. Mark learned the ceramic tile trade from his father. He was president and along with his brother, Matthew, co-owner of Donald J. Hibsch and Sons, Inc., Ceramic Tile Contractors.
The first job Mark held was at Joseph's Supper Club. He was the chef and found that he really enjoyed cooking. He loved to try out new recipes for the delight of his family and friends. Mark also loved sailing and he greatly enjoyed the Canadian fishing trips he shared with his friends. He liked gadgets and was a radio hobbyist. Mark was kind of a perfectionist but that was a good match with the tile business. His work was superb.
Mark leaves behind beloved wife, Jodie; devoted parents, Don and Arlene Hibsch; dear brothers and sister, Michael (Kim) Hibsch of Oshkosh, Sandra Lynn Hibsch and her son Roman of Tampa, Florida, and Matthew (Vickie) Hibsch and their children Johnathan and Hallie of Oshkosh. He will be missed by his wife's family: her parents, John and Carol Schiessl, her sister, Jan (Jerry) Ratchman all of Oshkosh and her brother, John Schiessl of Las Vegas, Nevada.
A service of celebration and remembrance will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 17th, at the Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, led by the Rev. Ralph Hanusa. A time of visitation and support will begin at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Kornerstone Recovery Inc. or the Salvation Army are appreciated.
