Marvin C. Gilbert, age 88, a lifelong resident of Omro, died peacefully surrounded by his children Tuesday evening, October 28, 2014, at Webster Manor. Marvin was born September 27, 1926, in Clintonville, the son of Charles H. and Jennie (Tullet) Gilbert. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WW II. Marvin had worked as a self-employed carpenter for many years in addition to working at Wisconsin Ordinance Products for 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, family gatherings and was an avid woodworker.
Marvin is survived by his children, Deborah (Jim) Robinson of Oshkosh, Jeffrey Gilbert of Oshkosh, Robert Gilbert of West Bend; grandchildren, Julie, Jeffrey Jr., Mickey, Robert Jr.; great grandchildren, Tiffany, Joey and Zack; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Harvard and sisters, Doris and Frances.
The graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at Rushford Cemetery with Rev. Randy King officiating. Military honors will follow the graveside service.
