Obituary

Marvin John Edward Steiner, age 87, died at Centennial Inn on Wednesday, December 27, 2006. He was born on April 2, 1919 to Roman and Viola (Barthels) Steiner. In 1940 he married Eileen E. Newton at the home of Reverend Hoyer in Winneconne.

Marvin was a strong willed, agreeable, listener who loved hunting and fishing. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army at a member of the Fighting Blue Devils during the Invasion on Italy. He retired from Rockwell and was a member of the Retirees UAW 291. He was also a professional house painter. He and his family spent a lot of time at their cottage on Enterprise Lake.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 66 years: Eileen; sons: John (Evyonne "Bonnie") and Ron (Kim Dodson) of Oshkosh, and Mike (Vicky) of Omro; grandchildren: Nikki (Randy) Thomas, Jamie (Steve) McCroskey, Jon Jackson Steiner, John Marvin Steiner, and Mickey Steiner; great-grandchildren: Brian Porter, Tierney (Scott) Martin, Taran Thomas, and Trent Thomas; great-great-granddaughter: Skyler Martin; and sister: June (Wallace) Clark. He is preceded in death by his siblings: Raymond, Earl, Bill, and Bernice Steiner, Sylvia Smith, and Vivian Paulus.

Funeral services for Marvin will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 29, 2006 at Lake View Memorial Park Chapel. The services will be officiated by Reverend Greg Smith. Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation and support at the Memorial Park Chapel on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
