Mary Lillian Bennett, age 99, of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Oshkosh, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2005. She was born on August 19, 1905 in Omro a daughter of the late Sedate and Luella (Moran) Darrow. She married Burton Bennett on August 12, 1930 in Omro, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on December 3, 1982.
Mary was an elementary school teacher and had also worked for over 20years in the office of the Smith Ice Cream Company. She had been a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, Gerald (Suzanne) Bennett of Oshkosh, Robert (Audrey) Bennett of Mesa, Arizona; three grandchildren, Laurie (Martin) Halverson, Jon (Jeanne) Bennett and Amy (Scott) Brown; great-grandchildren, Erik and Shawn Halverson, Andrew and Lauren Bennett and Alex and Emily Brown. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Duggan.
Funeral services for Mary will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street with the Reverend Harry Naden officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery. A time of visitation and support will be held at the funeral chapel on Saturday, April 2, 2005 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund is being established.
