Mary Jane Hinz, age 71, of the town of Poygan, died early Friday morning, June 5, 2015. She was born December 25, 1943, the daughter of Clarence and Frances (Wenzel) Palmer. Mary graduated from Neenah High School and later went on and received her certification as a Medical Transcriptionist. She married Dennis Hinz on August 11, 1972 in Neenah. Mary was a very thoughtful and loving person who enjoyed spending time with her family and was always available to support her family and friends in whatever manner she could. Her faith was the cornerstone of who she was. Mary was an active and faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church in Winneconne, was a Deacon of the church, sang in the church choir and at one point taught Sunday school. In addition to her family and her church, Mary enjoyed quilting, planting flowers and reading. She had worked at Theda Clark Medical Center and retired from St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton.Mary is loved and will be missed by her husband, Dennis; children, Troy (Margie) Schuelke of Green Bay, Heather (Mike) Shaw of Winneconne, Tena ( Fiance´ Jeff Wilson) Hinz of Phoenix; grandchildren, Drew, Coty, Samantha, Rae, Eva; sister, Arleen Pionke of Jackson; other relatives and many near and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Vern and Harland Palmer.The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, June 8, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church, 32 S. 3rd Ave., Winneconne from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Mara Liz Rivera officiating. Mary will be laid to rest at Lakeside Memorial Park Cemetery in Waupaca at a later date. A memorial in her name is being established.The family would like to thank Pastor Rivera and the many dear friends for the support and love shown to Mary and the entire family during this difficult time and to the medical team at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh for their professionalism and outstanding care.
