Mary Jane Marden, age 78, of Oshkosh, died at Mercy Medical Center on Sunday, June 19, 2005. She was born in Oshkosh to George and Mary (Etteldorff) DuChateau. She married Louis Marden in Oshkosh; he preceded her in death.
Mary was only four feet something tall but her heart was twice her size. She worked in food service at UW Oshkosh for many years. She loved knitting and baking. She loved to share her chocolate chip and M&M cookies.
Mary is survived by her son: Louie Marden; daughter: Belle (Michael) Otto; grandchildren: Jennifer (Alan) Ambers, Ambyr (Brian) Lemke, and Ayron Otto; and great-grandchildren: Shyna Belle and Xander Michael Ambers. She is further survived by her siblings: Joe (Aurora) DuChateau, Norma Schuessler, Leona (Gib) Reichenberger, and Robert Duchateau; and 19 nieces and nephews. Her brother, George DuChateau, and one nephew, preceded Mary in death.
Funeral Services for Mary will be held for Mary at 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, Fr. William Van De Kreeke officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for a time a visitation and support at the Seefeld Oregon Street Chapel on Wednesday from 3:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial has been established.
