Melvin J. "Chub" Ross, Sr., age 76, of Omro, died Sunday evening, October 30, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center. Born on August 7, 1940, in Waupaca, Wisconsin, the son of Arthur and Dora (Smith) Ross, Chub married Linda Krueger on July 4, 1970. A long-time dairy farmer, Chub later was employed by Menard's in their security department. Family was an important part of Chub's life, as his grandchildren would tell you. He enjoyed cross-stitching, needlepoint, cross-word puzzles, football, baseball, and basketball. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Linda Ross of Omro; four children, Scott (Kristy) Ross of Ripon, Loretta (Louis) Martinez of Oshkosh, Melvin Ross Jr. of Omro, and Michael Ross of Omro; four grandchildren, Dakota, Talin, Dalton, and Summer; a sister, Margaret (Bob) Wiesman of Marion, Wisconsin; a brother, David (Marlene) Ross of Ripon; a sister-in-law, Sharon (James) Bessette of New London, Wisconsin; and serval nieces and nephews. Preceding Chub in death are his parents and a brother, Charles Ross. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Kwiatkowski Funeral Home, 425 Jefferson Ave., in Omro.
