Merle Wolford, age 75 of Wautoma, passed away on March 31, 2007. She was born December 5, 1931 to Floyd and Elizabeth (Van Dyke) Wolford in Phelps, Kentucky. Merle attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and received her degree in Psychology and a Masters in Philosophy. She worked at Oshkosh Counseling Service until her retirement.
Merle felt her greatest achievement was her family. Son: Steve (Ellen) Dedow, grandchildren: Athena and Julian of Oshkosh; daughter: Betsy (Grant) Hambrick and granddaughter: Freya of Madison; son: Matt (Kathy) Dedow and grandson Anthony of Oshkosh; daughter: Amy (Kurt) Dedow-Bauer and grandchildren: Sophia and Owen of Wauwatosa. Her grandchildren were special treasures and Merle loved to write stories for them.
She will be greatly missed also by her companion and studio partner Karen Harvey and Merle's siblings Bea, Sis, Floyd, and Betsy.
Merle was an accomplished artist, writer, poet and songwriter. Nature and the beauty of the world around her were always an inspiration. Her creativity carried over into every aspect of her life and her loving spirit brought her many friends.
