Michael "Mike" Bauer, age 54, of Pine River, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 27, 2010, after losing his courageous battle with cancer. He was born November 22, 1955 in Queens, N.Y., to Eugene and Hannelore (Schwartz) Bauer. He graduated from Wautoma High School. He married Carol Brady on February 28, 1985. He proudly served his country for ten years in the U.S. Marine Corp.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Carol; his children Joshua Bauer, Melissa (Jesse) Loging, Julie (Fred) Wemmer, David (Cayla) Moses, Cindy (Steve) Carver, Richard (Tiffany) Bauer, Matthew (Meghan) Bauer; his parents, Eugene and Hannalore Bauer; sisters and brothers, Robert (Kim) Bauer, James Bauer, Michelle (special friend Pat) Bauer, Danielle (Bev) Bauer, Annette (Dean) Knollenberg, Jennifer (David) Kamke; sister in law, Debbie (Rick) Maki. He is also survived by his pride and joy, grandchildren, Hannah, Jesse Jr., Katlyn, Cameron, Andrew, Evan, Dominick, Bentley, Julian and Rosalie; also many Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, uncles and aunts.

Mike's greatest joys were riding his Harley with his wife, taking spontaneous road trips, fishing, boating and hunting. This last November, he bagged the buck of his dreams. Mike belonged to the Princeton 4-wheelers club and the Wisconsin Carpenters Union.

Friends and family will gather at Holden Lutheran Parish, N3388 State Road 152, Mt. Morris, on Thursday, March 4, 2010 from 4:00 until the time of the Memorial Service at 6:30 p.m., with Pastor Todd Murken, PhD officiating. The family would like to thank Green Lake Hospice and special thanks to Nurse Shelly Buehring. A memorial is being established in Mike's name.
