Mildred Bertha Fields, age 96, of rural Omro, died Wednesday morning, October 22, 2008, at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh. She was born January 31, 1912, in the town of Utica, the daughter of John Edward Williams and Bertha Mildred Bean Williams. She had attended and was educated at the Red School. Mildred married Alvin Aden Fields on September 7, 1928, in Waukegan, IL.
Mildred worked at Robbins Restaurant and then Standard Kollsman until her retirement. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking and especially spending time with her family. She is a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Pickett.
Mildred is survived by one daughter, Joyce Dodd of Omro; son in law, Patrick Dodd of Oshkosh; her sister, Hannah Miller; grandchildren, Jim Dodd of Omro, Dale (Cindy) Dodd of Omro, Peggy (Bill) Pongratz and Eugene Dodd, both of Oshkosh, Kathy and Kristy Dodd of Omro, great grandchildren, Mandi, Melinda (Matt), Mark, Rex, Michael, Stephanie, Jamie (D.J.), Shannon, Sara, Devan, Derek; great great grandchildren, Braden, Collin, Dean, Jamie, Jr., Jordan and Ethan. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, her extended family, Tim, Charissa, David and Angela Doolittle and many other friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Mary Jane Dodd; son in law, Bill Dodd; brothers, John Robert (J.R.) Williams, Edward Williams, and brother in law, Claude Miller.
In respect to Mildred's memory, the family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, October 24, 2008 at the Omro Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and then again on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Grace Lutheran Church, 502 County Rd. M, Pickett, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Russell Kloehn officiating. Burial will follow in the Zoar Cemetery.
