Milton J. "Jake" Gruszynske, age 90, of Omro, died early Sunday morning, December 18, 2005, at Bethel Home in Oshkosh where he has resided for the past year. Jake was born March 19, 1915 in Ripon, WI., the son of John and Anna (Mathwig) Gruszynske. He married Carol Lowry on December 8, 1950 and she preceded him in death on October 28, 1986. Jake was a livestock buyer for 40 years, he owned and operated the Ripon and Omro Stock Yards. His family and friends fondly remember his love of farming, horses and watching baseball.
Jake will be remembered and missed by his children: Tom (Judith) Gruszynske of Omro, Jack (Rose) Gruszynske of Omro, Ann (Dennis) Holm of Fond du Lac, Pauline (Kevin) Hannigan of Stacy, MN., Milton (Yvonne) Gruszynske of Omro and Jane Olds of Little Chute; 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is further survived by Dorothy Gruszynske; Winifred Miller, his sister, of Ripon; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and mother and father in law.
In respect to Jake's memory, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at the funeral home in Omro from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. A private family funeral service will be held with Rev. Joseph Mattern officiating. Jake will be laid to rest in the Omro Cemetery. Memorials in his name may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
