Muriel Thomas, age 98, of Omro, died peacefully Friday afternoon, November 11, 2005 at the Omro Care Center. She was born August 1, 1907 in Winchester, WI., the daughter of James and Minnie (Berzil) McLaughlin. In the 1920's and 1930's, Muriel traveled with her parents to Montana and Wyoming where her Dad did sheep shearing. She married J. "Pete" Thomas, June 8, 1935 in Milwaukee, WI.; he preceded her in death on June 27, 1963. Muriel had worked as a bookkeeper for the former Ford Garage in Omro, The Dairy Bar in Omro and Kolbus Insurance Agency in Omro.

Muriel is lovingly survived by her children, James (Joyce) Thomas of Omro, Ann (Dick) Egan of Ripon and Kathleen (James) Campbell of GA.; 12 grandchildren, Dennis (Nancy) Egan, Jack (Evelyn) Egan, Tim (Mary) Larsen, Dan (Dawn) Larsen, John (Patti) Larsen, Jim (Hiroko) Larsen, Julie Larsen, Ryan (Peggy) Thomas, Kurt Thomas, Keith Thomas, Scott Campbell and Heather (Don) Farenger; 12 great grandchildren, Emily, Mark, Ben, Sarah, Michael, Megan, Alex, Jenny, Rachel, Zachary, Jessica, Samantha, Dylan and Allison. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and daughter, Patricia Larsen.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 in Marion Hall at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Omro, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Mattern officiating. Burial will follow in Winneconne Cemetery.
