Myrtis R. "Mutt" Taylor, 90 of Omro, WI went to glory on 11, December, 2015. Myrtis was born the eighth child of Lewis Ray Taylor and Myrtie Jane Tibbets Taylor on July 17, 1925 on the Taylor farm, Town of Leon, Redgranite, WI. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a long time employee of the Bridgeport Hydraulic Company/Aquarion, in Connecticut. While serving in the Navy, a shipmate encouraged him to write to Sarah "Sally" Lyons, a lovely neighbor of his. This began their yearlong courtship via letters. They eventually met in Connecticut and married. They spent 57 years together raising their family. Sarah preceded him in death on November 26, 2010. He has missed her tremendously.In addition to his parents and wife, Myrtis was preceded in death by his three sisters and four brothers. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his children, Lindalee Taylor, Marcia "Robin" (Lou) Piccolo, Myrtis R. "Jeff" Taylor II; grandchildren, Marcia and Louis Piccolo and Sarah (Randall) Taylor-Koskubar, Roseanne Taylor and Myrtis R. Taylor III, and his great-grandchildren, Gianna, Matthew and Kassandra.The family greatly appreciates the Affinity Hospice staff; Ryan, Kelli and Barb; and the Hospice Veterans Partnership of Wisconsin; Mike and LaVern for their compassion and care.Visitation will be Wednesday, December 16, 2015, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home with prayers following. Full military honors will follow the prayers at the funeral home. Per Myrtis' request, there will be no formal funeral. He will be laid to rest in the Pine River Cemetery beside his wife. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated.
