Myrtle "Mimi" Schultz age 86, a resident of Webster Manor in Omro, died Sunday afternoon September 26, 2004 at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh. Mim was born February 7, 1918 in the town of Rushford the daughter of Walter and Orpha Lloyd Kallas. She married Erwin E. Schultz on January 15, 1944 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Berlin. Erwin and Mim celebrated 50 years of marriage in 1994. He preceded her in death on December 7, 1995. Together with her husband Erwin, they farmed until 1969. In addition to farming, she worked at Miles Kimball in Oshkosh for 30 years. Mimi enjoyed embroidering, baking buns, cinnamon rolls, and recently, activities at the Omro Area Community Center. Church was especially important to her and she was a long time member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Ripon. In recent years she attended Women's Bible Study at St. Mary's Parish in Omro. Even though she had no children, she took care of her many nieces and nephews and all those around her.
Survivors include1 brother; Bernard "Ben" (Dorothy) Kallas of Berlin, 1 sister; Bernice (Wayne) Shew of Oshkosh, 3 sisters in law; Lucille Schave, Beverly Kallas both of Omro and Doris Kallas of Poygan, her special family members; Diane, Mark, Debbie, Bryon, Ann, Dan, Steve, Patti, Bev, Frank, Jennifer, Stacy, Betsy, Stephanie, Matt, Molly, Evan, Connor and Alex, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Mim was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers; Walter, Vernon, Sylvester, Ralph and Lester Kallas, sisters; Helen Strasser, Annabelle Kalupa, Irene Kallas and Josephine Malson, and 4 half brothers; John, Alvin, Joe and Stephen.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at the Omro Funeral Home from 4-8 P.M. with a prayer service to be held at 7:00 p.m. and then again on Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Omro from 11:30 a.m. until 12:15 P.M. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Rushford Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
We will always remember Auntie Mim for loving us as her own.
