Obituary

Myrtle E. Schumacher, age 83, of Oshkosh, died Monday evening, May 1, 2012 at Harbor House. Born on February 26, 1929, in Oshkosh, to Albert and Emma (Werner) Naffin, Myrtle married Hilbert Schumacher on November 12, 1949, in Van Dyne, Wisconsin. Hilbert preceded Myrtle in death on December 7, 2011. A member of St. John Lutheran Church of Nekimi, the Altar Guild, and Women's Circle, Myrtle enjoyed time spent bowling, golfing, and gardening. A dedicated and loving mother and grandmother, Myrtle was the nurturing soul that maintained the family events for everyone to enjoy.
A true people person, Myrtle enjoyed the interaction with others which showed at her job with Standard Kollsman, later with Prange's, and lastly at Bayshore Cottage Gift Shop.
Left to mourn her passing are her loving children, Claire Lotto of North Fond du Lac, Steve Schumacher of Hawaii, Paula (Mike) Bergner of Green Bay, and Jack (Cheri) Schumacher of Oshkosh; her cherished grandchildren, Zachary Lotto, Joe Bergner, Laura Bergner, April, Kayla, and Megan Schumacher; and a sister, Carol (Don) Nason. Preceding Myrtle in death is her husband and four siblings, Irma Naffin, Ruth Kemp, Edna Boris, and Lester Naffin.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Mary 6, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. in St. John Lutheran Church of Nekimi, 491 Old Oregon Road, with Reverend James Reiff officiating. Interment will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2012, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church.
