Obituary

Nadine Dolores Stadler Marks, age 89, of Oshkosh, passed away into the arms of the Lord, September 6, 2016 in the loving presence of her family. She was born on December 27, 1926, in Manawa, Wisconsin, to Joseph and Mary Mottl Stadler. Her family moved to Oshkosh when she was a child.
Nadine married Clifford Marks, from Berlin, Wisconsin, on June 1, 1946, at St. Vincent Catholic Church in Oshkosh. She attended Oshkosh schools and worked at Oshkosh B'Gosh for many years as a seamstress. She would often proudly talk of the many pockets she sewed onto the overalls. Sewing was one of her talents and she created beautiful dresses for her daughters for special occasions. Nadine was a very talented gardener and could make anything grow beautifully. She enjoyed her park-like yard and flower gardens with bird houses and trellises of climbing vines. She always looked forward to spring when her magnolia tree would blossom. Nadine loved to bake and share cakes and cookies, especially on holidays. The sunroom of her home was always decorated for each season and was a showplace for craft projects and favorite collectibles.
She is survived by her children, a son, Steven (Mara) Marks of De Pere; three daughters, Nancy (Scott) McKnight of Oshkosh, Mary (John) Haines of Mequon, and Diane (Thomas) Grunwald of Prairie du Sac; five grandchildren, Jill (Carlos) Talbot, Rachel Jascula, Robert Jascula, Marisa Marks, and Brian McKnight; and two great-grandchildren, Charles and Henry Talbot. Preceding Nadine in death is her husband, Clifford, a grandson, Matthew Grunwald, and several step-sisters and step-brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2016, at Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Sunday from 12 Noon until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery next to her beloved husband, Clifford. The family thanks the staff of Eastbrooke Manor and Affinity Hospice care-givers for their dedicated care and attention to their mother's comfort.
