Nellie Mae Sieger, age 90 of Oshkosh died Friday, September 23, 2011 at Aurora Medical Center. She was born on November 2, 1920 the daughter of Henry and Marie (Sawyer) Sieger.
Those left to remember and love Nellie Mae include her son, Kenneth (Kim Joslin) Hahn of Bolingbrook, Illinois; daughter, Linda (Davy) Jones of Lancaster, California; grandchildren, Cassidy (Terrence) Hawkins, David Hahn, Josh (Kyla) Jones; great-grandchildren, Ahja and J.P. Jones; sisters, Betty Ruth Porter, Florence Sasada, Beverly Luther, Darleen Wetterau; brothers, Donald (Mary Ann) Sieger, Orville Sieger; sisters-in-law, Eldora Sieger, Karen Sieger. She is preceded in death by her parents; two infant sisters; brothers, Alvern, Clifford and Leonard Sieger.
Nellie Mae was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church for many years and was a member of the church choir and senior chorus. She loved singing hymns and danced to Polka music. Nellie Mae worked for the Senior Center for 13 years and had many special friends there. She loved to give hugs and was known as the hugging grandma. She had a very special relationship with two little girls, Kayla and Carla who made pictures and cards for her which meant so much to Nellie Mae.
Funeral service for Nellie Mae will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 30, 2011 at Plymouth Congregational Church, 1325 Georgia Street with Reverend Rick Hopkins officiating. The family will greet friends on Thursday, September 29, at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
