Norbert L. Rich, age 85, of Omro, died peacefully at his home on Thursday, April 19, 2012. Norbert was born April 8, 1927 in Berlin, the son of Lawrence & Belle (Damask) Rich; Lawrence died in 1931 and in 1945 Belle married Joseph Poeschl. Norbert was a U.S. Veteran, serving in the Navy. He had worked for a number of years at the Winnebago Mental Health Center in Oshkosh. His life was devoted to wildlife preservation and forestry management.

Survivors include his children, Pamela Kerwin of Port Angeles, WA, Janice (Russell) Van Lanen of Antigo, Pastor Martin (Tina) Rich of Waupaca, Laura (Brian) Pederson of Greenville; grandchildren, John Kerwin, Derek Van Lanen, Samantha (Brad) Stankowski, Kaitlin (Nick) Engle, Brittani (Cody) Martin, Nichole Rich, Matthew Rich, Zachary Pederson and Ashlee (Andrew) Nass.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Rich and Belle and Joseph Poeschl.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Kaitlin, Lana and his caregivers for the care, love and compassion given to Norbert.

Norbert will be laid to rest at the Omro Cemetery where there will be a small gathering of family & friends, on Tuesday, April 24th at 2pm.
