Obituary

Norma L. Mader passed peacefully into the arms of Our Lord on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. She was born in Oshkosh on May 26, 1916, the daughter of the late Harry and Rena Peterson. She married Laurence Widmer on August 1, 1935, he died January 1960. Norma married Charles Mader on August 30, 1968.

Norma was a member of Algoma Blvd. United Methodist Church. She had directed The Neighborhood Center at church for several years. She was a member of U.M.W. and Priscilla Circle. She also had been a volunteer at Bethel Home.

Norma had worked as a Dental Assistant for many years. After retiring, she and her husband enjoyed Elderhosteling, square dancing and traveling. She loved to cook, bake, garden, write and spend time with their grandchildren.

Norma is survived by her loving husband, Charles; three children, Ron (Blanche) Widmer, Judith (Robert) Voss and Brian (Marie) Widmer; four stepchildren, Tom (Nancy) Mader, Nancy (Robert) Lidwin, James Mader, and Kim (Gary) Kilishek. Also survived by ten grandchildren, four step grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
Visitation for Norma will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Algoma Blvd. United Methodist Church, 1174 Algoma Blvd., from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Barry Yarbro officiating. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Evergreen Manor or Algoma Blvd. UMC.
