Redgranite, WI — Norma Thelma Parrish (Hirst), nee Kilgore, 82, died Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in her home in Redgranite, following an illness.She was preceded, first, by her husband of six and a half years, Ed Parrish. Later, after reuniting with her ex-husband, Emmett (Fred) Hirst, she exchanged vows with him in the sight of God and family just prior to his passing. Norma was also preceded by her daughter, Lucinda Tenorio (Hirst), her granddaughter, Belinda Ross, and her son-in-law, Don Colwell Sr.She leaves behind two daughters, Sherlene (Sherry) Colwell, and Brenda Long, along with her step-daughter, Allison Parrish. Norma also leaves behind, her natural grandchildren, Timothy, his wife Shannon; Dan, his wife Kimberly; and Suzy. She is preceding her great-grandchildren, John (Guy) Tenorio, Kaydance Stenberg, Ayden, Walter, and Jasmyne. Among Norma's immediate family is also the family of the late Don Colwell Sr. whichincludes Don Jr., his son Don III (Buddy), daughter Emma, and his wife Susan; David, his daughter Savannah, his wife Dawn, their daughter Kristin, and son Colbie; Dennis and his wife Jenny, their daughter Tabitha and son Zachary; finally, Don's youngest and only daughter, Elisha, her son Devon, and her daughter Haley. Norma also leaves countless friends and relatives as she was cherished by so many.Born on February 24, 1934 to Evelyn Kilgore, adopted and raised by Andrew Kilgore in Chicago, IL. Norma was preceded by her sister-in-law Esther and leaves a surviving brother, John Sr., his daughter Jennifer, sons John Jr., and George.Norma was paralyzed at the age of 11 and had struggled with many very serious illnesses throughout her life. By the grace of God, she not only overcame but was a beacon of hope to all who knew her. Her entire life, with its challenges, was an encouragement to all who faced similar or even lesser difficulties.The Funeral Service in memory of Norma will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016, at Grace Lutheran Church, 720 Jackson Ave., Omro at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard Bartholomew officiating. If desired, memorials in Norma's name may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
