Oliver Lee Davidson, age 82, of Ripon, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2008, at Omro Care Center. He was born May 30, 1926, in Tupelo, Mississippi to Bertie and Ivy Davidson. He served in the US Army in WWII, was FBI trained and served as Chief of Police in Illinois, County Sheriff Deputy in Kenosha County, and was a maintenance engineer in Zion, IL. He retired in the early 1980's, due to health problems. He married Beverly Barnes Hokanson on July 16, 1974, in Waukegan, IL. He was born into Christ's Kingdom in 1997 and served his church faithfully until cancer attacked him in May 2008.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; children, Heath, Robert, Shawn, and Darlene Davidson, Bobbette Bruce, Robert (Janie) Hokanson, Brian Hokanson, Pam (Tom) Toll, Bobby Emerson, Richard Simmel, and Victoria Lembcke; 30 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren; his sister, Mauvelene Davidson; special friends, Kathy McLaughlin, Rick Badder, Betty Ponto, Angela Fehring, Art (Becky) Miracle and Anthony Green and family.
In respect to Oliver's memory, the family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, August 11, 2008 at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Olson officiating. Oliver will be laid to rest at Omro Junction Cemetery. Special thanks to Dan, Brenda, Dana and Linda from the Omro Care Center for their kindness and care.
