Oliver R. Potratz, age 76, of Oshkosh, passed away Monday, November 29, 2004 at Bethel Home. He was born on January 1, 1928 in Oshkosh, a son of the late Herman and Meta Potratz. Oliver married the former Leatrice Joy Leinweber on October 21, 1950.
He was a graduate of Oshkosh High School and retired at the age of 70 from the O'Connor Oil Corporation. He was a member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, the Elks Club B.P.O.E. #292 of Oshkosh and the Lakeshore Club of Oshkosh.
He is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Lynn (Gordon) Loehr of St. Cloud; a son, Douglas R. (Debra) Potratz and grandchildren, Aaron and Matthew Potratz all of Oshkosh. Oliver was preceded in death by his wife, Leatrice, on December 6, 1992, and by three sisters.
There will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at a later date. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff of Bethel Home. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be directed to the Bethel Home at 225 N. Eagle Street, Oshkosh, WI 54902 in Oliver's name. The staff of Seefeld Funeral and Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
