Ottelia "Tillie" Luft, age 92, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at Atrium Nursing Home in Neenah where she resided the past several years. Born on May 14, 1925, in Antigo, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Anna Kegler Cleland, Tillie married LeRoy Luft and they spent over 50 years together, before his death on May 19, 1998, sharing the love of their children, Gary, Mary Ann, and Gregory.
She was employed as a cashier and bookkeeper at the A & P grocery store for many years. Her love of fishing brought many good times and memories to share with friends and family. Tillie was an incredible and loving grandmother, a role she took quite seriously. Lance, Shane, Gregory, and Jennifer were all fortunate enough to share her special talents for this. Sadly, many years of suffering with dementia caused Tillie to miss-out on the enjoyment of her great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Gary (Wanda) Luft of Oshkosh; her daughter, Mary Ann (Darrell) Aldridge of Eau Claire; her grandchildren, Lance (Traci) Luft, Shane Luft, Greg Aldridge, and Jennifer (Dave) Crawford; her great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Arin, Vivienne, Christopher, and Logan; her great-great-grandchildren, Austin and Henry; her sister, Donna Knauer of Appleton; and nieces and nephews. Preceding Tillie in death is her husband and young son, Gregory.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 1, 2017, at 12:00 Noon, in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 808 North Main Street, Oshkosh. Interment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
