Owen King Jr, 70, passed away suddenly on September 29th at his home in Omro. After serving in the Marine Corps during Vietnam, Owen spent most his life in Chicago raising his family and serving as the Vice President of Operations at Faber Brothers. He retired to his weekend cabin in Omro in 1994. In recent years, he enjoyed spending his days working at 4imprint and spending time with the many friends he made.Owen is preceded in death by his parents Owen Sr. and Genevieve, and siblings Patti Winger (the late Gene), Tom, and Dennis. He is survived by, and was 'Dad' to, his children Mike (Marielle), Michelle Cannon (Tom), and Chet (Jennifer). He was 'Bones' to siblings Mary Arts (Phill), Ellen, Kate Schaffer (Chuck), Cherie (the late Tom), Marcella Bohlander (Joe McVey), Gene (Sue), and Jane Carstens (Terry). He was 'Grandpa O' to grandchildren Matt, Alexa, CeCe, Mitch, Lily, Madilyn, Cami, and Myranda. Owen was loved by his 25 nieces and nephews and their families; very special cousins; ex-wife and friend Dianna Lang; special friends Jody Luft, Eric Schultz, and Rob Hessenius; and everyone else "you know he never liked."Please join us to celebrate Owen's life as he would have liked it on Saturday, October 8th in the Tap Room at Fox River Brewing Company, 1501 Arboretum Drive in Oshkosh between 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. (toast at 6:45). A private burial will take place in the Chicago area at a later date.
