Obituary

Patricia A. Everts, age 78, of Oshkosh, died Friday morning, April 23, 2010, at Aurora Medical Center. Born on April 1, 1932 in White Lake, Wisconsin, to Willis J. and Jean M. (Ably) Darling, Pat married Earl "Jack" Everts on October 1, 1966 in Appleton, Wisconsin. Jack preceded Pat in death on January 22, 2003.

Pat was a kind and generous person, active in her church and shared a great love for her family and friends. She was a former President of Catholic Women of Oshkosh, former Regent of Catholic Daughters of America, Treasurer of Colostomy Supportive Group, served on the Board for Camp WWAAEC, a member of Church of United Women, and was a well-known individual at the church picnic selling scratch-off tickets.

In earlier years Pat was a victim of polio and thereafter had trouble walking. She worked at King's Pressing. As a desk clerk at the Hotel Appleton, she was the only one in Appleton who could send telegrams in an emergency situation. She also worked at the Hotel Conway in Appleton. A sales associate for Goodwill, Pat enjoyed being in touch with people. She also demonstrated Tupperware in her spare time.

She enjoyed cooking and creating her own recipes; as well as sewing, embroidery, making crafts, watching the EAA shows and having family and friends over for back yard parties. Other favorite activities included playing bingo, any game of cards, and jig-saw puzzles. The last few years she struggled with heart problems.

Left to mourn her passing is a brother, Robert (Virginia) Darling of Layton, Utah; four sisters: Mary De Kleyn of Kaukauna, Wisconsin, Ellen Darling of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Dorothy (Ryle) Herman of Shiocton, Wisconsin, and Donna Kelly of Arziona; aunt, Betty (David) Eldridge of White Lake, Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Precilla Darling; Jack's brothers and sisters; special acquaintance, Ken Hean of Appleton; good friends: Debra Weyenberg of Florida, Shirley Schmid of Oshkosh, Eunice and Roger Verstagen of Oshkosh, Marty and Molly Blonde of Oshkosh, and Evie and Don Evert of De Pere. Preceding Pat in death are her husband; parents; her brother, Joseph Darling; brother-in-law, Ron Haass; nephew, Billy De Kleyn; and great-nephew, Dustin Zielinski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Jude Parish (Sacred Heart site), 519 Knapp Street, with Reverend Thomas Reynebeau and Reverend Donald Everts con-celebrants. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park following the service. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Monday from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, where a prayer service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Visiting will continue on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Pat's family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Alzoubi and Aurora Health Care nurses and Aurora Hospice staff for all the kindness shown and help given to them. Also for all they did to make Pat as comfortable as possible. A special thank you also to Sharon and Melissa for the care given to Pat in her home.

We will miss Pat, but we know that she and Jack are running and skipping in the sand, on the beach, for the first time. God Bless!
