Paul L. Berry, age 87 of Oshkosh died at Bethel Home on Monday, November 7, 2005. He was born in Princeton, Illinois on August 31, 1918 to the late Jesse and Bessie (Brady) Berry. On September 25, 1937 he married Virginia J. Schroeder in Oshkosh.

Surviving Paul are: his bride of 68 years, Virginia Berry of Oshkosh; children: Shirley (Earl) Nicolaisen of Oshkosh, Richard (Judy) Berry of Pine River, and Donna (Roger) Gruska of Oshkosh; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and brother: Donald G. (Elsie) Berry of Seabring, Florida. His brother, Glen Berry, and an infant sister preceded him in death.

Paul was loving, ambitious, determined, and assertive. These characteristics led him to many achievements. He could do anything he set his mind to complete. He was always busy fixing and building things. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and a Mason. He retired from Rockwell after 21 years as an engineer. He built and ran the Lakeland Motel for 11 years. He loved going to Canada to fish, his love of fishing led him to become a pilot so he could fly to his favorite fishing locations. He enjoyed golf and deer hunting. With his active life his greatest concern was for his family.

Funeral services for Paul will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 11, 2005, at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 North Eagle Street, Chaplain Cathie Vander Velden officiating. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation and support on Friday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial is being established with the Bethel Foundation to benefit Bethel Home 2 East.

To the staff at Bethel Home 2 East a special thank you for the care of Paul and his family during his stay there.
