Paul Padilla, age 80, of Omro passed away unexpectedly at Mercy Medical Center on Thursday morning, April 1, 2004. Paul was born on June 20, 1923 in Kyle, TX, the son of Pablo and Isabella Luz Padilla. He married Hilda Graper on October 22, 1949. Paul retired from Wisconsin Ordinance Works and took up wood carving in his retirement. Paul was always helping people, either with fixing things or help painting many houses. He loved his family, especially his grandkids and sang his Mexican songs to them whenever possible.
Paul is survived and will be missed by his wife Hilda of Omro; his children, Felix (Colostica) Padilla of Waco, TX, Mike (Lena) Padilla of Waco, TX, Susan (Russell) Kain of Lakewood, WI, Mary (Gaynel) Klockzien of Medina, WI, Jesse (Carla) Padilla of Oshkosh, Rose (Ronald) Moriearty of Omro, Frances (David) Schilling of Omro, Jerry (Pam) Padilla of Oshkosh and Jimmy (friend Penny) Padilla of Omro; his grandchildren Patricia Padilla, Cynthia (Jessie) Kirks, Mark (Tammy Kain), Tracy (Don) Spore, Angela Klockzien, Cody Moriearty, Sarah(friend Shane) Schilling and Austin Padilla, his great grandchildren, Chris and John Castaneda, Jessica, Adam, Steven & Emily Kirks, Justin & Joey Kain, Carol Ann, Rebecca & Ryan Spore and Tyler Roth, his great great granddaughter Alyssa Castaneda, his brother Ernest Padilla of Waco, TX, and he was also loved by many cousins, nieces and nephews in Texas. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, first two wives, brothers, Juan, Willie, Chavelo and John, sisters, Quinta Liendo and Teresa Castrillo.
Visitation for Paul will be held Sunday, April 4, 2004 at the Omro Funeral Home from 1 to 4 p.m. and on Monday, April 5, from 11:00 to 11:45 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 233 E. Scott St. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 12 Noon, with Fr. Joseph Mattern officiating. Burial will be at Omro Cemetery. A Memorial is being established. The family would like to give special thanks to Evelyn Henke and her daughter Carol Kruse for their support.
