2024, Phyllis Louise (Meilahn) Flanagan was called home to our Lord. She passed away quietly in her sleep in her home at Patriot Place in Berlin, WI.
Phyllis was born in Oshkosh, WI on March 16
th
1929. She was the oldest child of Ewald and Monica (Shea) Meilahn. She lived in Pickett WI with her family and graduated from Ripon High School in 1947. On July 2

1949, Phyllis married Leslie (Bud) Flanagan. The couple settled in the Town of Rushford, where they raised their 5 children and continued to live for over 70 years.
Phyllis was a homemaker, and her hamburger chop suey and "squirrel" cake were everyone's favorite. She enjoyed the outdoors and nature. Going for rides to look for deer or to see the fall colors, watching the birds at the feeders and camping with family were some of her favorite activities. She was an avid reader and could often be found reading a book in her recliner or reading at mass. She took care of her grandchildren as well as the children of other family friends. She had a good sense of humor and her laugh, though sometimes silent, was contagious. She was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, Leslie (Bud) Flanagan; parents, Ewald and Monica (Shea); her younger sister, MaryJo (Jodi) Meilahn; grandson, Ryan Derber as well as many in-laws and nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her children, Dan (Karen) Flanagan, Ben (Becky) Flanagan, Leslie (Mark) Spanbauer, Mary (Mike) Kostopoulos, Monica (Aaron) Olson; her grandchildren, Jenney (Paul) Britain, Tim Flanagan, Laura (Ryan) Stolcpart, Raechel Derber (Brad Markert and his son Gavin), Jodi Spanbauer (Brent Kriah), Lane Spanbauer, Nicole (Matt) Natzke, Kari Kostopoulos (Declan O'Conner), Paige and Piper Olson; her great-grandchildren, Ellie, Dane, Abby and Luke Britian, Jackson Todd, Clare and Molly Stolcpart and Nora Natzke; her brother Dan (Lois) Meilah;, sisters-in-law; Elaine Brisky and Jeanette Lotz as well as many nieces and nephews.
